A little about me

My name is Molly Southwick

I'm 16 years old and the CEO & founder of Farmers Touch. I aim to grow this business so it can reach more families and teach about the importance of soap and farmers everywhere. Farmers Touch started soon after I turned 14, but I planned and started making soap at just 13. I've been a farmer almost my whole life and have seen many of the hardships they go through firsthand, with that, I've become experienced and knowledgeable within the farming industry. That's why it means so much to me that Farmers Touch, not only makes the best quality soap possible but also advocates for true farmers and their way of life.

About Us

A farm represents many things- hard work, love, determination, strength, and so much more. Most  people will never know or see all the work that goes into farming.

Farmers Touch started out as a surplus of goat milk at the small farm/ homestead I live on. My dad, the genius he is (no really, he's actually super smart), started researching different ways that we could use all the goat milk. He has the brain for business but not the time, so he's always coming up with great ideas for businesses to start and new ideas for each. He came across goat milk soap and made a comment about how expensive it was and how either my mom or I should really start looking into being able to make it ourselves. Turns out there's a lot more than just mixing some things together to make soap…

Lots of research later, I came to learn about what Saponification was, as well as the importance of natural ingredients because of how it affects our skin. When we use harsh chemicals that don't need to be in soap (and quite frankly shouldn't be in the first place) it disrupts our whole body and goes much deeper than the skin.

This is how we started milking our first goats. Now I have an awesome two stall milking stand that my dad built for me!
